TES Pre-Pangea Class: Introduction to Ranboo, with KeepOnKeepingOn @The Imperial Loft
between Park and Lexington Avenues
Introduction to Ranboo, with KeepOnKeepingOn
In 1932, the well-known artist Itoh Seyu, who is one of the key persons of modern kinbaku, published a book with the title: “BiJin Ranbu”. This means “wild dance of a beautiful woman”. In 2011, Barkas began to develop his personal way of tying – which was very stormy and overwhelming. His Sensei, Osada Steve, called it Ranboo. It has since become one of the well-known styles in the world of kinbaku. This class will provide the participants an introduction to ranboo. As one of the few students of Barkas given permission to teach Ranboo, KeepOnKeepinOn will cover a variety of exercises to help you learn ways to tie in a dynamic and enjoyable fashion.
Note: this class will involve high intensity tying and may result in bruises to bottom partners. Participants are encouraged to bring lots of water!
