The hishi or diamond pattern has long been an integral part of Eastern and Western rope bondage. Utilizing concepts many people are already familiar with, this class is designed to show students how to integrate the hishi pattern into ties they use on a regular basis as well as how to create new ties based off the pattern. In addition to the technical aspects, students will be encouraged to explore ways to incorporate the unique opportunities offered in constructing a hishi tie into the emotional aspects of their scenes.
The class will teach students the following:
1. Creating hishi patterns by “burning” rope
2. Full body hishi
3. The hojo-hishi
Requirements:
-8+ lengths of 25-30 ft rope (natural fiber preferred)
-Understanding of basic body mechanics
– Participants should be able to tie single column ties, half-hitches, munter-hitches and reverse munter-hitches
-Participants should be able to tie a harness of their choice
