More Details

Meet The Chefs: Amanda Freitag

Through her work in professional restaurant kitchens, as a food television personality and now author, Amanda Freitag has become more than a chef, she is The Chef Next Door. While the moniker is derived from the title of Amanda’s first cookbook, The Chef Next Door: A Pro Chef’s Recipes for Fun, Fearless Home Cooking (Houghton Mifflin; 2015), it also aptly conveys both her professionalism and warm, accessible personality. These traits have served her well as a judge on Food Network’s hit series, Chopped, and as the co-host of Food Network’s American Diner Revival with Ty Pennington.

Meet The Chefs: Zac Young

Zac Young is the Pastry Director of Creaveable Hospitality Group, a nationwide company specializing in food and beverage management, licensing and consulting and responsible for the all-in-one Thanksgiving dessert sensation, The PieCaken. Named one of the Top Ten Pastry Chefs in America by Dessert Professional, his passion and pastry wisdom has been showcased on Cooking Channel’s Unique Sweets and on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay, Chopped, and Worst Cooks in America.

Meet The Chefs: Lazarus Lynch

Lazarus Lynch is a 24-year old Multi-Artist, the host of Food Network’s original digital series, Comfort Nation, and the face behind the brand, Son of a Southern Chef. New York City born and raised, Lazarus stepped into the kitchen at an early age under the tutelage of his father, Johnny Ray Lynch, a southern chef from Bessemer, Alabama. Together, they created a special bond in the kitchen that would soon launch into a successful media enterprise. Food Network host, Ingrid Hoffmann, named Lazarus “the next big food star.” He is a two-time Chopped Champion winner, and has been a guest on several shows including the Emmy-nominated, The Kitchen, and The Kitchen Sink, The Today Show, and judges forChopped Junior, and Beat Bobby Flay.

Meet The Chefs: Michael Anthony

Michael Anthony is Executive Chef and Partner of Gramercy Tavern, as well as Executive Chef and Managing Director of Untitled and Studio Cafe at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Mike joined Gramercy Tavern as the Executive Chef in 2006. Under his leadership, the restaurant has earned a three-star New York Times review (2007) and James Beard Awards for “Outstanding Restaurant” (2008) and “Best Chef: New York City” (2012). In 2015, Mike won the James Beard Award for “Outstanding Chef,” a national recognition. His book, V is for Vegetables, won the 2015 James Beard Award for Best Vegetable-Focused Cookbook.

Meet The Chefs: Jake Cohen

Jake studied at the Culinary Institute of America, during and after which he spent time working the line at NYC institutions, DANIEL and ABC Kitchen. Eventually, he transitioned out of restaurants and into food media, first at Saveur Magazine, where he led recipe testing in the publication’s test kitchen.
